McDonalds Donates Convention Profits to Victorian Bushfire Appeal
The Convention profits together with the contribution of Owner Operators from across the country has achieved a very generous donation in excess of a $1,000,000. It certainly was an uplifting experience for our team working with an Organising Committee with such a community spirit. Meetings & Events Association Bushfire Appeal LuncheonOn April 16 2009, the Meetings Events Association has joined with the Rotary Club of Southbank to arrange a luncheon aimed at providing assistance to the Bushfire Appeal. Held at the Melbourne Convention Centre, the lunch provides an opportunity for our industry to come together and collectively support the cause. To assist in this cause, WALDRONSMITH Management is managing the luncheon registrations from our industry. The lunch will feature Gill Hicks, survivor of the 2005 London Bombings, and the Victorian Police Commissioner, Christine Nixon, sharing their professional and personal insights in how to rebuild lives in the wake of disaster. It promises to be a very real and positive approach to the rebuilding and recovery that lies ahead. More details and registration can be accessed via the following link and we would encourage our clients, suppliers and colleagues throughout the meetings and events community to attend. Conference Wrap Up & FeedbackSince our last newsletter in November 2008 we have worked on a wide range of Conferences alongside a stimulating and challenging group of Organising Committees. WALDRONSMITH Management has worked with our key suppliers to meet the many logistical, infrastructure and resource challenges and continued to strive for the level of service and care that not only meets our clients' expectations, but ideally, exceeds them.
The Congress was hosted by the Royal Aeronautical Society and Engineers Australia, and very professionally managed by WALDRONSMITH Management under the direction of a congress committee comprising DSTO, RAAF, State Government, Airshow and Industry representatives. Highlights of the Congress were the quality of the conference presentations and the calibre of the keynote speakers, the guest dinner speaker Australian Astronaut Andy Thomas, the air show itself and the smooth running of the whole proceedings. It went without a hitch and all who contributed to the organisation and running of the Congress should give themselves a big pat on the back!” David Graham AIAC13 Chairman Thank you to our clients for entrusting us with the management of your Conferences and to our key suppliers for the support and assistance you have given us. We could not achieve, or exceed, without your support. WALDRONSMITH Management Office News
